New RoSPA Awards podcast explores the journey to health and safety excellence
RoSPA has launched a new RoSPA Health and Safety Awards podcast series, giving listeners an opportunity to hear first-hand from organisations and individuals driving improvements in health and safety.
Safety Stories: The Journey to Excellence aims to shine a spotlight on the real stories behind award-winning performance, sharing practical insights, lessons learned and experiences from organisations committed to protecting people and preventing accidents.
Hosted by Matt Cryer, Head of Awards at RoSPA, each episode explores the stories and achievements that underpin health and safety excellence, while highlighting the importance of continuous improvement and strong safety leadership.
The first episode, What Excellence Looks Like Today, features Eva Fryc, Awards Partnerships Manager at RoSPA. Together, they explore what health and safety excellence means in today's workplace, the characteristics shared by high-performing organisations and how the RoSPA Health and Safety Awards support organisations on their improvement journey.
The discussion examines the role of leadership commitment, employee engagement, learning from experience and continual improvement in building strong safety cultures. It also shares insights drawn from organisations that have achieved recognition through the internationally respected awards programme.
For more than 70 years, the RoSPA Health and Safety Awards have recognised organisations that demonstrate outstanding commitment to managing workplace risk, protecting people and driving continual improvement. With more than 2,000 entries annually, participation from over 60 countries and representation across 34 industry sectors, the awards are regarded as a global benchmark for excellence in health and safety.
The new podcast series has been created to complement the awards programme by providing a platform for organisations to share their journeys, discuss the challenges they have overcome and inspire others striving to improve their own health and safety performance.
Whether organisations are looking to benchmark performance, strengthen their safety culture, demonstrate leadership or take the next step in their awards journey, Safety Stories: The Journey to Excellence offers valuable insights from those who have successfully navigated the path to excellence.
Future episodes will feature award-winning organisations, expert judges and successful entrants, offering practical advice on subjects including sustaining high standards, building successful award submissions and maintaining momentum in the pursuit of excellence.
Listeners can watch or listen to the first episode, What Excellence Looks Like Today, on the Safety Stories podcast page.
